Home Staging

For everyone with real estate on the market:  I am also offering “home staging”.  Home staging is a technique that has led to selling thousands of homes or businesses for top dollar.  Home staging is for sellers on their way out to make a house or office space inviting to buyers on their way in!  I can create a great look by using limited funds, and create/transform the home so that it is balanced in order to reflect the personality of the owner.  OR!  I can provide interior Re-design.  I can use the existing furniture, accessories, and make the space balanced and functional by working with your existing pieces.   You want your buyer to really “feel at home” when they walk through your space.  A potential buyer is more likely to stay longer in a space that is staged rather than a space that is empty.  So my goal is to help the potential buyer visualize what furniture and accessories  could go in each space of the home and also to make the buyer feel 'at home".

Eclectic Inspiration

I would have to say my personal style of design is eclectic style.  I can't just pick one style.  You can mix and match anything together.  Colors, pattern, textures, and even scale can bring out an eclectic design.

I Love RED!!  I love the look of this eclectic bathroom design!

Fabrics - Patterns

This season the Damask pattern is very popular.  They are commonly produced today in very monochromatic (single colour) weaves in silk, linen, or linen like fabrics which features designs of flowers, fruit, and other designs. The Damask pattern is great in different colors, but I think my favorite is the traditional black and white.  I am going to share some of my favorites:
I love the traditional black and white pattern because you can add an accent color to it.  From a deep red to a light soft blue would work.  I chose this fabric for a client who's style is more traditional.  That is what is great about a Damask pattern, it is transitional.  You can use it in a contemporary or traditional design.

This piece from a previous residential project.  The home was very traditional with some more contemporary furniture, so choosing a Damask pattern that is both traditional as well as contemporary.

Just some of my favorites:

As you can see in this photo, everything is in the Damask pattern and in the soft blue tone.  This gives the room a very monochromatic, soothing atmosphere.

The Damask Wallcovering is very popular as well.

This is a Damask wall covering from Land of Nod.  This is a great way to give your walls pattern, color, and texture all in one!

The Damask wall decals are very neat!  Great for giving any space a new look :)

Modern Twist

This design perspective can be used in commercial or residential design -
While working in Birmingham at Interior Consultants, we presented a bold, edgy, design with a modern twist to a potential client.  We used bold rich color, textures, and different fabric patterns for this challenge.

Design Collage

As you can see the bold accent color is the lime green wall covering on the accent wall.  The accent wall is the focal point of the room.  The wall covering also has a large leafy pattern.  We threw in some accents of deep purple and crisp white linens.

Hospitality Design

I have design experience in both commercial and residential design.  I wanted to share some of my favorite jobs with you.  While working at Interior Consultants in Birmingham, our team designed many hotels throughout the Southeast.  My favorite was Hampton Inn Leeds, Alabama.   Our client came to us wanting something different and BOLD.  Below are pictures of inside the hotel as well as a presentation board and furniture.
As you can see BOLD is just what we gave them!  We used deep rich red fabrics and patterns, chrome accents and different textures.  The red accent TV wall really is a focal point in the public space.
You can see how we used pattern and chrome accents in this picture.  Since the hotel is located near Barber Motor Sports we had to throw in a theme.  I love the vintage motorcycle, it is the focal point in this area.
This is the King suite, the BOLD red accent wall makes the room!  I love the use of pattern from the carpet and fabrics and also the different textures.
This is a presentation board of the public space.  You can see the use of color through the BOLD red wall color and accents and pattern through the carpet and fabrics.
Love Love Love this project!  It turned out great!

The Helendorf Inn, Helen Georgia
The Helendorf Inn is located in Helen Georgia.  First I want to tell you guys a little bit about Helen.  Helen is a small Bavarian town located in Northeast Ga.  It looks like a small city pulled straight out of Germany.  It is  a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers.  Our challenge in this renovation was to keep the old world Bavarian feel and just give it a fresh updated clean look.  As soon as I can figure out how to upload my proposed design for this project I will!  I am working on it.
